What Causes Delay In Periods?

I'm a 35 year old woman married. I'm also a type 2 diabetic in which I take insulin. For the last 6 months (looking on calendar) my period has been very regular. But I'm now 2 weeks late. I've been having these weird cramps. and sore breasts. But my former dr. told me I could not have kids because of PCOS. Am I too young to start Menapause?
