What Causes Delayed Period After IUD Removal?

Hey good day. On 2/10/15 I took out my paragard iud. My doctor did say to expect some spotting but it never occur. However the first day of my last period was 2/01/15 and it s always on time or just 2-3 days late. Is it possible that takinv out my iud interrupted my cycle? I did research on line that s with the removal of marina iud you period may take upto 3 months to return. But I m scared cause I m having unprotected sex with my boyfriend
