What Causes Delayed Period After Protected Sex While UPT Is Negative?

hello, my boyfriend and i had sex about 3 weeks ago, we used protection but it fell off and he didnt finish. It is the week I am supposed to have my period but i cannot tell the difference between spotting and a regular period. I have cramps and i also took a test and it came out negative, is there any other advice?
