What Causes Delayed Period After Started Taking Birth Control?

ok the last time i had my period was february 23,2010..i had relationships on march 13,2010. i started taking birth control a week after this and yet in march i didnt get my period and up to this day i still havent gotten it..i was supposed to get it around march 22-24 and i didnt...whats wrong???
