What Causes Delayed Period Postpartum?

I am 10 months postpartum still breast feeding and still haven't gotten my period. Last week I had very light spotting for two days but still have not had my period. Is this normal. If it helps my husband and I do have unprotected sex since I was told I couldn't get pg well bf and no period.
