What Causes Delayed Period When On South Beach Diet?

I started South Beach diet last month.Was very strict in phase 1 and I am 2 and a half weeks late with my period.I took 2 pregnancy tests and both came out negative.I am usually irregular with my period but have never been this late.Sometimes I feel like my period is coming but never comes...HELP
