What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Emergency Contraceptive Pill?

My period is 6 days late! I have notice some white discharge but nothing out of the usual... I am sexually active however I have never had unprotected sex. I took an after pill a while back could this be delaying my period? I am so nervous please say something.
