What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Emergency Pill?

i took an emergency pill about 4 months back and have not got my periods since then. i did experience some vaginal bleeding afterwards. i also took a pregnency test which came out to be negative. could you please help me out regarding the possible reason for such a delay. also i would like to mention that it was the second pill i had taken in a month.
