What Causes Delayed Periods And Cramping While On Contraceptive Pills?

i was taking the pill for my first month then when it came time to get my period, well its been five days and i still have no period, im having cramping, and very bad back pains. i have been so emotional and cranky, i just keep telling myself my period is coming but it hasn't, can i be pregnant?
