What Causes Delayed Periods And Diarrhea?

Hi, my last period was dec 20th and i've always been regular, either 25 or 28 days in a cycle. I've had a pain on my side now for two days along with being late and today i had diarrhea. I took a preg test two days ago in a clinic and it was negative. What could it be?
