What Causes Delayed Periods Even After Taking The Pill?

i m 24 years old and had sex on 14th of last month with my husband using contraception pill right after meeting. my periods cycle date is between 27 to 1st of every month... i have not got the periods still..i m about 6 days late all around.. is this pregnancy symptom....and what medicine should i take to prevent pregnancy?
