What Causes Delayed Periods Having Cyst In The Cervix?

Hi....may I ask?I'm worried I don't have period for 40 days,I went to gynecologist and she did pelvic ultrasound,findings have 8 mm cyst in my cervix at posterior wall,she prescribed tab metformin TID,why until now I don't period after consuming the tab primolut prescribed?
