What Causes Delayed Periods While UPT Is Negative?

My boyfriend and I have been sexually active for over 2 months. We use the withdrawal method. I had my periods close to 45 days ago and have just recovered from a viral fever plus I took a preg test and it came out to be negative. What could be the reason for having delayed periods for over 10days ? Kindly advise. Thank you
