What Causes Delayed Periods While On Implanon Implant?

hi ive been on the implanon for 2years 5months now,my periods stopped altogether,then went irregular so i was put on the pill for 3months to settle bleeding, then returned to no periods and now the last 4months ive been having a regular period and now i am 10days late for my period this month...is it possible the implant masks a pregnancy?i have a friend who became pregnant after having her implant in for 2years and 9months which was shocking
