What Causes Delayed Periods With HPT Negative?

hello! .. im about 4 days past due for my period and im usually a regular.. and ive been having menstrual symptoms and everything.. but i have not been bleeding.. i took a home pregnancy test a few times and it came out negative.. i would like to have some sort of idea what could possibly go wrong.
