What Causes Delayed Periods With Abdominal Cramping?

Hi, My periods are normally no more than 30 days apart and have always been regular. It even starts at the same time every day (before I wake up in the morning of). But it's the next afternoon, and still nothing. I've been cramping like I'm going to start, and had myself convinced that it would start any time. What's going on?
