What Causes Delayed Periods With Pain In Lower Abdomen?

hi i have had sharp left sided overian pain for the past week and a half and my period is very late (not pregnant) my lower abdomen is very swollen and tender and i feel like i need to urinate all the time, was negative for a uti at docs 2 weeks ago, could this be middlesmertz pain or maybe a cyst?
