What Causes Delayed Periods With Spotting?

Hi doctor , last Jan 21,st 2011 i had a laproscopy done as we were trying for baby for almost 3 years. This month in Feb I had to get my periods starting on Feb8th, but till now i didnt get. But from Feb 6 th till today i have blood spotting whenever I wash that part, but no flow as usual. Is this my period? and we know i will not be preg as Jan we didnt had any intercourse....please answer my queries as fas as possible....
