What Causes Delayed Periods?

my wife and i just just got married on the 14th of may, and she was going to hav her period around the same time of the wedding so she skipped the wawter pills for that month... could that have messed up this months period? cause she is on her 3rd water pill and she still hasnt gotten her period. she couldnt be pregnant could she?
