What Causes Depression Along With Strong Body Odour?

I have a grandson 29 years old who is very tired all the time, weighs about 250 lbs, eats a lot of carbs, depressed, and has developed a strong body odor in the last 6 months...he has always had body odor but not this much as now. He works nights and sleeps about 6 to 8 hrs a day....
I am wondering if he might have diabetes.
