What Causes Diarrhea With Black Specs In Stool?

Good evening. I am experiencing a viral bought with diarrhea causing dozens of trips to the bathroom. My primary care physician advised me to stay home for the duration, but my question is regarding the frequent pea-like black particles which are coming out in the mix. Please advise.
