What Causes Diarrhea?

I've had diarrhea for two weeks. No fever or cramps; just sudden urges. I'm thinking gastroenteritis but my diet hasn't changed, no spicy foods, but lots of alcohol (that's my guess). Prescriptions are hydrochlorothiazide, Pravastatin and Lisinipril.
