What Causes Difficulty Breathing After A Lung Resection?

My wife had a lung resection Nov. 26 (upper right tip), which was sealed during surgery. At 4 months post op she is still having trouble breathing at night when she lays on the right side. Laying flat on her back or on her right side causes no discomfort. Is thissomething to worry about or is it normal? Thanks. Jim
