What Causes Difficulty Breathing When Suffering From Stickler Syndrome?

my 21 year old son has Stickler syndrome. he fell days ago and hurt his ribs.he had X-rays that showed no breaks and was diagnosed with bruised ribs. He is currently feeling out of breath when walking. not too much pain. Is this breathlessness normal after a bruised rib?
