What Causes Difficulty In Breathing Of A Child?

I m unsure if I need to Take my 5 year old to ER or wait and take him to his doctor on Monday he is breathing hard and has no fever or runny nose is eating and drinking but not as active as usual and has lost his voice completely all he can do is whisper please tell me what to do to help me child I hate when he is sick
