What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing?

I recently received acupuncture e-stim to my neck. It was left on approximately 30 minutes. Immediately after I felt problems swallowing, this has progressed to spasms in my throat, severe reflux and a lot of pain near my cricoid making me not want to eat. Could this have damaged my vagus nerve and if so what can I do about it?
