What Causes Difficulty Swallowing Along With Chest Discomfort?

I have had difficulty swallowing, coughing, mild burning/tingling in the back of my tongue and chest discomfort in the front and in my back for about a week. I have had mild symptoms of this for about 5 years and a GI doctor did a scope and found nothing. I have also a history of a spontaneous lung collapse about 20 years ago. I have an appointment in a week to see my GP. Should I hurry that appointment up?
