What Causes Discoloration Of Urethral Opening?

I am a 35 y/o sexually active female. I've just noticed that the opening to my urethra had discolored to a dark purple. Not sensitive or swollen. Couldn't tell you when this happened, since I don't regularly inspect the area - but I don't ever recall it being that color.
