What Causes Discomfort And Feel Of Growth At Back Of Throat?

I have been feeling like there's something stuck in my throat for the past week. Finally today I put my finger back there to see if I could feel anything and I felt a growth that feels like another mini tongue on the very back of my tongue. I am very concerned. This is not normal correct?
