What Causes Discomfort In My Back And Neck After Brain Surgery?

I had brain surgery about 5 months ago for a subdural hematoma. I have been have trouble with my back & neck & was told I need surgery due to something wrapping around/squeezing my spinal cord. Today I woke up with a painful knot on the lower right side of the back of my head. I am wondering if I should be concerned?
