What Causes Dizziness After A Coughing Episode?

I just did. I have had a cough for a few months and have seen my very good gp a few times, including earlier this week. My lungs are clear, I have never had a respiratory illness other than colds or flu, and am a distance swimmer. today for the first time I got dizzy after coughing. What is causing that
