What Causes Dizziness And Disorientation In A Person?

I have had four surgeries in past year and now feel dizzy, confused, not interested in my painting- I am a professional artist. I am 75 years old - my problems started 1 and a half years ago with surgery for a ruptured colon and massive peritonitis . But the above complaints have only appeared in the last 2 months.
