What Causes Dizziness And Vertigo?

Can my room air conditioner be the cause of my intermittent dizziness and vertigo lately? I'm thinking mold or freon poisoning. My girlfriend also has felt a little light-headed and dizzy the last week or so. Been going on since I moved in several weeks ago--before I was living elsewhere without any dizziness. I just opened my window to air out the room and put the fan on without the airconditioner. I am 6' 175lbs. 61yrs. excellent medical history (knock on wood).

I am in good shape--working out aerobically and anerobically everyday.
