What Causes Dizziness, Nausea And Diarrhea Along With Periods?

Today I started my menstrual cycle, and shortly after I had a range of rather extreme physical reactions that usually do not accompany my period. I experienced dizziness, nausea, and what seemed like diarrhea. I could not even walk a strait line, and luckily a very kind stranger gave me a ride home. She asked me what I had to eat and drink, I replied I hadn't had much water and ate half a hummus wrap and bag of chips about 3 hours before. She mentioned it could be hypoglycemia? This has really only happened once before, and it was also on a day when I started my period. My grandmother was a diabetic, should I get tested?
