What Causes Drainage In The Ear?

My granddaughter is 7 yrs old---has several medical conditions---is non verbal---she has been on IV antibotics for 3 weeks to clear up a resistant ear infection, so she can have the evans procedure done on her feet---all was going well and we noticed the drainage back yesterday in her ear---she has tubes in could it be recurring because of the tube???
