What Causes Dry Itchy Spot On The Fingers?

I am a nurse and have a 4 week history of circular dry areas that are spreading to my fingers.They were initially a red spot but they itch, crack and then grow, peel and have become deeper.I do have allergies to tree pollen and dairy/ wheat sensitivities.There is one area on my toes.Could it be latex soap/ alcohol gel?
