What Causes Dry Patches In Groin Area Spreading Across Buttocks?

So I ve had some dry patches in my groin area for over a month now. I went to see my gynecologist and he recommended tenactin assuming that it was jock itch. First of all theses patches don t itch, or burn, unless I try to removes the scales then apply alcohol to the area.They are multiplying all the way up to my buttocks and it s annoying. I just booked an appointment with my dermatologist to see if something can be done but I ve tried everything including and is not limited to antifungal creams and ointments, A and D ointment, antibacterial soap,rubbing alcohol etc... I am getting frustrates over this.
