What Causes Dry Rough Patches Of Skin On Upper Arms?

I have a few relatively small dry patches of skin on my upper arms. They re not red and the area is not discolorated. I could only tell that they re there because of the rough bumpy texture. Should I be concerned, I noticed a new little patch today on my other arm.
