What Causes Dryness In Mouth And Dizziness After Taking Atenolol?

Took an extra 50 mg dose of Atenolol by accident within an hour or two. Noticed a dry mouth and a little bit of disorientation and lightheadedness but not feeling faint. Also taking Xanax 0.25 mg for sleep but this feeling is different. I'm 63 and weigh about 160 pounds. Thought I should just stay up a few more hours to see if the symptoms dissipate on their own.
