What Causes Ear Ache And A Sore Throat?

I was initially having pain in my neck 10 days ago.I visited an ENT who gave me antibiotics for cervical lympanopathy.Two days later i was having ear pain which continued for 3-4 days and then became less.I have a slight sore throat and cough which is blocking my voice box.I am 26 yrs old.I was a smoker 1 year ago and a drinker too.What can this be?
