What Causes Elevated Ca125 Levels?

I have had 2 blood test where my ca125 was elevated, my ultra sound was good. I have since been to the gynalogists specialist who now is going to send a report to a gynalogists/onologists for a second opinion on whether I need to have a laprosopy is this a normal?
