What Causes Elevated GGT Level In Blood?

My GGT test shows high. Most articles say it s associated with drinking, but I only have 1/2 glass once or twice a week. But I have also seen articles of association with heart disease which I have, having had stents and bypass, and with liver damaging medications such as asprin etc. I ve been on asprin for many years so could this be causing liver damage?
