What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Along With Headaches?

My blood pressure was in the 120 s for months - all of a sudden started getting headaches , then blood vessel broke in my eye and blood pressure was at 220/167 - in 2007 I had an operation for pheochromastomia(sp) - can this be reoccuring and for the last week after being placed on blood pressure pills - my BP was up and down had headache - pressure never exceding 159 - today finally no headache - after such a spike does your head ache for days after.
