What Causes Elevated Heart Rate Along With Blurred Vision?

Yesterday, I had a flutter in my throat, almost started coughing. Then my heart rate increased and would not reduce for some time. When this first started, I started to see black and stars, so I almost passed out. I was sitting down, when this occurred. I have had this flutter situation happen before, but not to the point that I almost passed out. The flutter and heart rate was disturbing, plus it took so long for it to go away. Need some help please.
