What Causes Elevated Heart Rate And Blood Pressure Despite Taking Atenolol?

Woke up with sense my heart rate was up. Checked BP- 159/94 pulse 54 Taking 100 mg atenolol x1 daily, last at 8:30 PM and 2 asprin about 10:30 PM. Should I take another atenolol?I just awoke and felt like my heart was working a little hard to have been sleeping. No pain just beating a bit fast. Am taking atenolol 100 mg. x 1 daily. Last dose was 8:30 CT and 2 asprin about 10:30. BP is 155/94 pulse 54
