What Causes Elevated Levels Of Cholesterol And Micro Albumin?

I was recently denied life insurance due to results of blood /urine work. Most results are normal with the exception of 2 - slightly elevated cholesterol levels but the one most significantly out of the range was Microalbumin. A reading of 41.10 mg/dl versus the 0 - 3 range outlined. What should I be looking into?
