What Causes Elevated Liver Enzymes?

I am 29 years old and have been recently diagnosed with high value of sgpt and sgot in liver function test. I have been put on medication of ursocol 300 and Absolut 3g for one month. Pls advise will it help anyway. Also suggest any other way of lowering my values.
