What Causes Enlargement Of Circumvallate Papillae?

I have enlarged enlarged circumvallate papillae, feels like i have a hair caught at the back of my tongue. Have been to GP and he could find nothing else wrong other than the enlarged taste buds. Unfortunately it is driving me crazy, is there anything i can do for it?
