What Causes Excess Sneezing And Runny Nose?

I ran a 5k with the outside temp. 22. About 20 mins inside warming up I started sneezing and couldn't stop. Then my nose started running and it's been 3 days and is getting better. What caused it to happen so sudden. I almost never get colds and had no symptoms.
