What Causes Excessive Belching Immediately After Having Hot Shower?

My husband has excessive belching, we started watching to see if certain foods such as corn, beans, or nuts was to blame. It got better but it seems as though every time he takes a hot shower it really gets bad. Some days he does not even have problems and then sometimes it is terrible. Any advise?
